Fir admissions in IIT you need to clear JEE mains cutoff and then scire well in jee advanced. While jee mains is still manageable without coaching, you will have a hard time preparing for jee advanced on your own as this is one of the toughest engineering entrance exams. Still if you don't want to take coaching, do the following. - Clear each and every concept. - Make your basics strong. - Solve previous year papers in given timeframe. - Understand why you got a question wrong. - Increase speed and accuracy. - Practice high level questions.
