Getting into BITS requires you to write BITSAT comprising of 150 questions of physics, chemistry, maths, English and logical reasoning to be solved in 3 hours. You need to have 75% aggregate in PCM to write this test. BITS is obviously good as it stands out to be 5th best engineering college in India including IITs.

If you want to pursue BE in mechanical engineering, you need to appear for BITSAT exam conducted by BITS every year. The eligibility criteria for that is you need to have an aggregate of 75% marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics taken together and above 60% in each of the subjects. BITS-Pilani is a premier engineering institute in India. It is a good choice for mechanical engineering as the branch is evolving and enhancing year on year. The placements are quite appealing with core companies coming up at the campus like Tata Motors, Larsen & Toubro, etc. If you are getting a call from IIT, then maybe you can proceed with that. If not, then BITS Pilani is a very good choice for you. All the best!
