There is a huge difference in both the exams. UPSC is conducted by Union Public Service Commission for Grade A officer post and SSC is conducted by Staff Service Commission for Grade B post in central government. The competition is high in UPSC because approximately only 800 -850 posts are there and in SSC, only 4500-5000 posts.

UPSC Exam is conducted to fill the recruitment of civil services exam IAS IFS, NDA, CDS, and SCRA which include several services like IRS, IPS, IRPS, and IFS etc. Almost 3-4 Lacs students fill the application form every year and total number of vacancies is almost 1100. SSC Exam is conducted for various posts in various ministries, department & organisation. This year total 30,26,598 candidates fill the application form and 4733 vacancies are available. Exams under SSC are SSC CHSL, SSC CGL, SSC CDS, SSC CPO.
