First of all, start with the basics and that include NCERT books after you feel comfortable with those. Then, try competitive books and solve problems as much as you can and you can crack any competitive examination. Good luck.

For IIT-JEE preparation, along with NCERT books, I would suggest you to watch NPTEL videos over reading books. These videos are available on YouTube for free. Just try it once.
