Yes, it's true that you can do CA without giving the example CPT (Common Proficiency Test was the first level of Chartered Accountancy examinations). For such that you have a need to score 55% in your graduation. And thereafter you can take admission in CA inter.

The following categories of students are eligible to register directly for Intermediate (Integrated Professional Competence) Course without passing the Common Proficiency Test (CPT): 1. Graduates or Post Graduates from Commerce stream having secured in aggregate a minimum of 55% of the total marks or its equivalent grade or other. Graduates or Post Graduates having secured in aggregate a minimum of 60% of the total marks or its equivalent grade in the examination conducted by any recognised university (including Open University). Example: Candidates who completed B.Com and M.Com courses. 2. Candidates who have passed the Intermediate level examination or its equivalent examination by whatever name called conducted by The Institute of Cost Accountants of India (earlier called as ICWAI) or by The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI).

Yes, that's right. You can be a CA without giving CPT. Also, but how? I will explain you. So, if you want to skip CPT, you need to complete your Bachelor degree from any stream after completing your Bachelor degree. You can register your name for IPCC before 9 months of your exam. You need to register for IPCC group. IPCC is the second level of CS. You need to clear both groups of IPCC with 3 years of articleship under a CA and after articleship and clearing it, your both groups can apply for final book after completing your both final groups. You are officially declared as CA.
