M.tech. gives you a chance to specialize- go for offshore structures, retrofit studies, bridge or other structures, hydraulic structure analysis, research on something you think can come up in future, concerned technology and future of it,etc. If you target a government job it's unnecessary and if you are looking for site related works, experience might just beat the degree.
