CFA is a certification and MBA is a post graduation. Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Program is a professional credential offered internationally by the American-based CFA Institute (formerly the Association for Investment Management and Research, or AIMR) to investment and financial professionals. A candidate who successfully completes the program and meets other professional requirements is awarded the CFA charter and becomes a CFA charter holder. The CFA Program provides a strong foundation of advanced investment analysis and real-world portfolio management skills that will give you a career advantage. The Indian CFA (MIFA Programme of ICFAI) is a Charter awarded to candidates completing the ICFAI University Master in Investment and Financial Analysis; the program is focused on financial analysis as applicable to investment management. The Charter is a certification from ICFAI - the Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India - apprising the public at large of the CFA's competence for Financial and Investment analysis. MBA is more of a general or diverse programme with potential job opportunities in diverse areas in finance and insurance sectors.
