No, some colleges have their own entrance exams like SNAP (for symbiosis), IIFT, XAT (for XLRI), Maharashtra CET (for top colleges in Maharashtra through CET). CAT is important to get admission into IIMs, IITs, and other top colleges.

CAT is an important exam for various MBA courses but it is not the only exam for MBA course. There are various exams like MAT, CMAT, NMAT, SNAP, MHCET, etc. A lot of colleges have their own written exam.

There are various exams except CAT like XAT, MAT, CMAT, ATMA, GMAT or SNAP. With XAT, you can go for XLRI that's ranked 5th in India, and it's the best institute for HR in India. SNAP is to get into the colleges of Symbiosis International University and some other colleges like Acharya Businesses School – Bangalore. Through MAT and CMAT, you can go for various top ranked colleges and GMAT is mainly for the abroad universities.
