Chandigarh University is obviously a better choice. But, when it comes to placement it depends upon you that how you have scored in your B.Tech. Because, Chandigarh University delivered best placement records from last three consecutive years.

See, the chances of getting placements in the mechanical branch in any of the private college is quite low as the demand for these engineers in very low in India.

Yes, CU is a good option as the placements with the core companies like VE, M&M, Hyundai etc come for placement every year. Also there are company sponsored labs from the companies (mentioned above) in the campus for the practical training of the students.
