ECE is not that difficult a stream. It has good scope and the rest depends upon your interest.

If you do a course and curriculum wise comparison then yes, electronics and communication engineering is difficult with respect to computer science or information technology, etc. But electronics and communication engineering also provide opportunities to learn more and more about new topics. Also, being an electronics engineer you can apply to both IT and non-IT means hardware jobs.

Let's say that difficulty level is inversely proportional to interest. If you are interested in the subjects of this field then you won't find it that difficult. I would suggest first have a look at the syllabus of all the years and get a fair idea whether you wish to learn those or not. Hope this helps. All the best.
