When you put the question in such a context what I believe is, you are afraid and that someone might have scared you for the thought of taking MBA in finance for further studies. Either way, I will help the best I possibly can. You don't have to be a commerce background, otherwise the MBA colleges would go empty for not admitting engineers in their Finance course. Your degree to a certain extent becomes irrelevant, because you dive into the world of equities, debt, hybrid instruments, CD's, buy out, bail out etc. MBA finance guys are paid really handsome amount. My only word of caution would be to choose a really reputed college for pursuing Finance. A commerce back ground is not necessary to study MBA in finance, if one has an engineering degree. Engineering graduates can very well grasp all about commerce, as many have done it. Moreover, it is worth studying MBA in finance, as there are food scopes in the field. Best wishes.
