If you have confidence that you could prepare well and qualify for SAT and JEE as well with good scores, only then choose dropping a year as if you don't get desired results after an year you'll be frustrated. So think wisely before you make a decision. Well, that depends on you. If your concepts are cleared, and you are very much determined, then drop a year. It will not be going to affect you much. But, if you are not quite certain, then take up any good college. hope this helps.
