AMIE, AMIETE, etc. were considered equivalent to B.Tech in the industry. Many of the past AMIE, AeSI, IETE engineers have achieved an exemplary position in the engineering society, but MHRD had issued a circular on 06 December 2012 mentioning that AMIE, AeSI, IETE recognition will be withdrawn on 30th of May 2013.
