Is it true that at the time of placements, preference is given to engineering and commerce students over arts student?

Ravi, its not so. It depends upon the company and its requirement. In case you end up doing MBA and go for placement drive, it makes no difference if there is another candidate who is B.Tech MBA if the basic eligibility required for the job is MBA or Masters. . What is important for recruiter is your knowledge, how you conduct yourself, how you perform in the interview. Outside the college, even the name of your college makes a difference. If you have done a course/ degree from an institute having good reputation like it provides quality education, has good faculty, good placements, wonderful infrastructure then surely that is going to be an added advantage. There are many good universities offering a wide range of courses to choose from. Most of them have good placement records and some even offer good scholarships to meritorious students. It totally depends on your college,your knowledge,your aptitude. A student doing Eco(H) which comes under humanities discipline from say St.Stephens College or Hindu College will get a huge package on the contrary a student doing B.tech from not so reputed college will not get that good package or he might not even get placed and vice versa.So don't compare stream with package or prestige or placements,etc. Good luck!!

placements depends on company orientation like u are arts students and going for placement in google thats not possible
