If you are set on making your career in law and only law, then you can give it a second chance, but not more than that as there is a lot of competition

No, I do not recommend this at all. I have seen with so many bright students dropping a year just to prepare well and appear for the next years CLAT or NEET or JEE etc. And ultimately wasting one full year. But remember one thing - you cannot study day and night the whole year. To prepare well in Entrance you need to sincerely study atleast 2-3 hrs daily for 3 months before Exam date. So dropping a year will not help you - trust me. In case you could not get through this year’s CLAT prepare again and appear next year. But continue your education - take admission in some college in a subject (alternate choice next to LAW). And, if next year you get through, leave the current college and take admission in Law.

Hi! its totally depends upon your interest if you want to make career in Law and want to work in corporate sector then please go for CLAT and if you will get top 5 National Law University then its good for you because you easily get Corporate job further if you want to make career in Litigation as well as in Judiciary then join any local college and make your career starting going into Lawyers chamber and gain practical experience of court room which is no one is going to teach you in Law School. So if you already made your mind set for corporate law then only go for NLU otherwise its not worth it. All the best :). .

In my personal opinion, it does not make sense to drop a year for CLAT to just prepare. If you are so interested, prepare well in the first go itself during the summer break post exams.

If you are sure and seriously want to make your career in this field then it would be good to drop a year.
