Bachelor Degree in mass comm. From distance learning is offered by numberless institutions and universities all over India and even abroad. There are online certifications as well. We need to give it a balanced view rather than simply rejecting one or approving. Distance education is meant to substitute the absence of regular education of any Degree when the learner is, for all valid reasons, unable to pursue regular studies. Secondly, distance education is a better option when one already has skills to work with along with some experience as well. Going by the description shared above, this is suggested that a distance learning degree in mass media (as well as any skill based and skill oriented course/subject) shall be avoided as much as possible. This is also to be accepted that distance education has more failures in its credit in India. Just a couple of days back, Haryana Government terminated the services of those who did a technical degree through distance mode. It was as per Supreme Court ruling. I wish to suggest that if possible, do this course as a regular student and from a good institution.
