Mecahtronics engineers have gained jobs at a variety of firms in the departments of automation, maintenance, control systems, quality control and safety. The industries are also not limited to one as with my seniors being employed in automotive industry to tobacco industry and also petroleum One also has the advantage of being able to choose to Master in both electrical & mechancial fields due to basic courses covering both, It is however in my opinion better to Master in a specific field of your choosing since mechatronics is a broad field, theirin lies its weakness and its strength, since some firms are unaware of this field and some prefer pure mechanical/electrical graduates to hire. The strength of a mechatronics engineer lies in his ability to overcome the barriers of communication between electrical and mechanical counterparts since he is equipped with knowledge of both and has ebtter understanding of the integration of the systems which is the need of modern day industry. if you are able to convince your employer of your benefits you may be a very useful asset to your firm however if you are the first candidate entering this field, you will have a tough time convincing them of your worth
