In NCERT books there are not so many questions for the practice and hence it is not sufficient for all but for you can consider some books to clear your concepts. I'll suggest you to go through these books as most of the questions are from NCERT only in the JEE paper.

Yes, studying NCERT books is very necessary for cracking JEE exams but you can also prefer some good reference books like HC Verma for physics, RD Sharma for Maths and OP Tandon for chemistry.

The answer to this question is definitely no. But the mains paper is definitely made considering the NCERT books. The syllabus covered in the NCERT books is the syllabus of mains too. Therefore, NCERT are considered for JEE Mains preparation. For advanced, NCERTs play no role and still, it is important to study it as it will introduce you with the fundamentals of the theory when starting as a beginner. Sometimes, in JEE Mains, the questions are directly asked from the books with not changing of the digits, so their NCERT readers get an advantage. This will help you to get a good rank in mains. For advance, once if someone has thoroughly gone through the NCERTs need not to touch it again as there will be no questions which are going to be asked from it. Even in advance questions are never repeated and every time new questions are asked. So in all, if you study it for your mains, then it will be beneficial for you. Otherwise, for advanced from question prospective, it is not of much importance. Than you. Best of luck for the preparations.

Dear, From my point of view, NCERT books are not sufficient for cracking JEE, you will need some higher books along with NCERT for maths and physics. NCERT is enough for only chemistry.
