Being a Dairy Technologist (B.Tech- NDRI, Karnal) myself, I can clearly tell you that it has a very good scope, even better than any other engineering. This industry will never run out of jobs and opportunities, plus you always have an option to go for higher studies if you are not interested in a job after B.Tech. But as is the case of all other B.Tech degrees, where you do it from always matters. One other important factor is fees. Here you don’t spend lakhs of rupees as fees, so it does not create a burden on you or your parents. Talking about getting a decent job, it always depends on you how well you are with academics and how much knowledge you have about your subject. I understand even after having these capabilities you need a platform. NDRI, for example, has a dedicated placement cell and no one for that matter stays without a job. Starting salaries are either equivalent to or in some cases more than what other engineers might get.
