No, as per the government rule there is a fixed quota for every category, like for general- 51%, OBC-27%, SC-15% & ST-7%. Moreover, NIT's gives 50% quota to their state students also. If you are economically weak my friend, work hard, get admission in any government institution you will get a scholarship for sure. All the best!!

No, there is no economically backward quota to get admission in NIT, Jalandhar. There is 50% quota for Punjab students and other 50% for other state students. The quota is based on general, OBC and SC/ST category.

50% of the overall seats are reserved for the SC/ST/OBC and their sub categories. There's no such economically backward quota applicable.

The Dr. B. R. Ambedkar National Institute of Technology Jalandhar, popularly known as NIT Jalandhar (NITJ), is a public engineering institute located in Jalandhar, Punjab, India. It is one of the 31 National Institutes of Technology of India. It was founded as a joint venture between the Governments of Punjab and India, originally under the name Punjab Regional Engineering College, Jalandhar (PREC). The admissions to the B.Tech programs run by the institute are very competitive having acceptance ratio nearly 2-3%. Students were admitted on the basis of All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) till 2012, but from 2013 the admission is based on Joint Entrance Examination Mains (JEE Mains) conducted across India. Total seats for B.Tech are 786. No EWS quota available.
