Con's 1.Unlike other engineering programs you do not get a degree or diploma after completion of course. This is a certification course. 2.During the course one is trained to clear the licence exams conducted by DGCA (governing body for aviation) apart from the regular exams conducted by college. 3.Clearing of the Gov license exams are mandatory (pass Mark is 70%) to becomean engineer. 4.Completion of the course of 3 years does not satisfy the requirements to be an engineer & may need to work as an aircraft technician for aminimumof 2 additional years on any aircraft. 5.Aviation sector is still unstable with most of the airlines reporting losses and henceNew vacancies are scarce. Pro's 1.Perks (free plane tickets) and benefits(6 digit salary) are good once you become an engineer. 2.New airlines in the pipeline may create new vacancies including opportunities in the middle east. 3.Only the most competitive minds get through the Gov license exams and hence challenging job ahead. 4.working on an aircraft is definitely exotic and exciting and is quite easy to be the showstopper of your neighborhood
