Is TOEFL compulsory to pursue MBBS through scholarships from abroad?

To study MBBS abroad student requires an eligibility certificate from Medical council of India (MCI).The eligibility certificate can be downloaded from the MCI website. Students who have 50% marks and above in Physics, chemistry, biology and English are eligible to apply for MBBS studies abroad. TOEFL is nothing but a language proficiency test. If English was not your medium of instruction in your education, you might have to appear for TOEFL or IELTS. This is not compulsory if English was your first language or was used as the language of instruction in your school/college.
