VIT is a mixed bag when it comes to experience as a student. Infrastructure is very good, but the surrounding area of the college is a big problem. While studies are well taken care of by the excellent faculty members (one doesn’t need to join classes), extracurricular activities are almost nothing compared to other colleges with similar CET cutoffs. Placements again are nothing to what it should be for a college with such infrastructure and faculty. No dream company visits the institute. 3-4 mass recruiting companies visit (mass recruitment 35-45students /company). Again, very less compared to other colleges and only IT companies visit. College festival turns out to be a very low happening affair mainly because of the surrounding area, but it is not that bad also. Travelling to VIT is quiet inconvenient (Again the locale). Crowd is decent and mostly typical engineering. Overall a mixed experience is what you can expect from VIT as of now. Hopefully, things will change for the better in the future.
