NO. You will be working as an Area Sales Manager provided you clear all levels of Sales Trainee. After your effective completion of MBA/PGDM course in a B-School, you will be posted as a Sales Trainee to know about every nook and corner of the market. Then depending upon your performance as Sales Trainee, you will be posted on an appropriate location to do the job of Area Sales Manager. But Sales Job has its own challenges and difficulties. It's not a piece of cake unless you are non-complacent and anxious about your sales growth the next day. Are you asking this question after watching Velaikkaran Movie? :-).

No, in marketing you may also work in Research, area sales manager, marketing head, business development officer.

Dear, So far my knowledge goes, marketing and sales are inter related but not synonymous. In short, marketing deals with strategy and execution of promoting the products or services of a House whereas Sales objective is to execution of the Business Deals (of those products or services) with the customer. I think MBA in Sales & Marketing is an evergreen and valuable specialisation.

After doing MBA, at initial stage you'll get a job of a sales person. Not that door to door sales person, but B2C sales person. And then after taking some experience in that you can definitely switch to marketing profile.
