Yes it's possible. I am a medical student now and took no coaching. It clearly depends on guidance inputs be it from parents, school teachers or other aquantances. But if you don't get their full course support and in absence of your planned devil's perseverance you need some more guidance in the form of coaching classes. Actually coaching reduces your hard work of planning and helps you use that in preparation.
