As a young and fresh executive, you are always in a dilemma what road to take a startup or corporate. Both have some merits and demerits. But it is a question of your career; any wrong move and your career will go downhill. In this situation, a candidate has to act smart. Both set-ups have their own positive and negative aspects. Startup offers challenging environment, personal success, job satisfaction, recognition, a friendly atmosphere and more. But at the same time, it does not give you job security, handsome perks and remunerations, time to mingle with family etc. On the other hand, corporations are full of benefits like relaxation, job security, employee fringe benefits and more, however, you are just a cog in the giant wheel. There is nothing like personal achievement in large corporations. Politics is part and parcel of giant companies. If you are a free-spirited, enthusiastic professional, who does not want to work under many restrictions, you probably are cut out for start-up. And if you love 9 to 5 groove, a small vacation at year end, and job security, you should better enter that giant corporation.

It is really a doubtful question for every fresher after MBA, that whether to work in MNC or in Startups. So, according to me, one must start his or her career by looking out the job profile of a company. One must not see whether it is an MNC or a startup, but must consider job role or job profile or Job description. And, on the basis of job description, he or she must take decision about which company to join. One must join the company where the candidate must able to explore things or get challenging work from that company. Such company will help u grow in future and will help candidate to climb the corporate ladder. We can see, that there is no difference between MNC and Startups. People are in dilemma that Startups does not provide with handsome salary or does not provide with job security. But, if we talk about the stats the startups companies are providing with much better salary, then that of MNC and provide with better job security. So, according to me it is totally candidate’s decision about which company to join.

According to me, start-ups is a better option than working in an MNC because in an MNC you will be given some specific work and that would not help that much in future but in a start-up, you can learn many things. Also, you will get multiple great opportunities to grow till a higher position.

Everyone has a dream to follow and some say that it's better to work on one's dream than to work in an MNC and work on others dream, but being a fresher, it is obviously hard to manage and start a startup without any prior experience in the particular field. Start-up will teach you a lot but with some experience in a particular field you won't commit much mistakes and you will also be able to work with all kind of people and have a good idea of how to get work done from others apart from this, the competition is tough and to run a startup, you need to raise funds too. To get the experience for fundraising, MNC will be a better option. It will help you to make contacts so it's preferable to work for few years in an MNC and then go for your dream.
