This choice really depends upon your interests, your rank in various competitive exams, your 12th board percentage and what you want to do after graduation. Assuming you do not have any specific interest in any branch and want to grab a job with a good pay package, i would suggest going for computer science or IT. These are the hot branches now-a-days with highest pay packages (depending upon college). However, you need to keep in mind where your interest lies. If you like coding (C,C++), then go for CSE/IT. If you like physics, thermodynamics and engineering drawing, go for Mechanical/Civil. If you are fascinated by the electrical circuits and are the one who fixes the fuse in your house, then go for Electrical Engineering. Your interest matters the most. Four years of engineering will be fun if you enjoy studying and you can only enjoy if you have interest in it. Introspect day and night and find out what you like. Before opting for a branch in any college, do check the companies visiting that college. In case you want to go for higher studies like M.Tech or MS, rather than taking up a job, then u dont need to check the companies' list and go for your favourite subjects. Good luck for your future! :)
