Forensic science is a niche field with limited career opportunities in India. It is as a study preferred by police professionals. Unless you are very sure about your interest in the field and you are willing to take risks, you are advised not to choose such a narrow scoped profession.

Forensic Science is an amalgamation of almost all faculty members of knowledge. It is an essential and efficient enabler in the dispensation of justice in criminal, civil, regulatory and social contexts. Currently, a few government and private universities offer courses in forensic Science. However, there is a need for improvement in the quality of education as well as training & research in the field of forensic sciences. So far most jobs in the field of forensic Science were in the government sector. A few NGO'S and private organisations like the Institute of Road Traffic Education (IRTE) are trying to fill in those gaps by offering courses such as Masters in Forensic Sciences. People with degrees in forensic Science are in high demand at various law enforcement agencies such as the police force, the legal system, the investigative services of the central government and state governments. Intelligence Bureau (IB), Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI), and the police department absorb most of those who have studied forensic sciences. You can Pursue M.Sc. In forensic Science from IRTE -
