Hello! Ideally, there should be no confusion at all. Because, after the completion of any course you should join a job to test 'How' you have learned that course. My advise will be to go for a job and then after for higher studies. (#) Doing a job will give you the more relevant knowledge of this field. (#) You can save a big chunk of money to cope up with the major and minor expenses of your studies. You have just studied the video editing, hence there are many possibilities that you are unaware of the real projects that a company faces. You can get more knowledge you have to jump in the film and video editing business. This will not just make you financially independent and stable but also it will gives your additional preference when you will go to apply for the further continuation of your higher studies. Hence, without having more doubt on that, just apply for the job and gain industrial exposer for at least 2 years. Hope this helps. Good luck.

Being imaginative and techno-savvy is essential for this profession. One needs to have a sharp eye for detail, an analytical mind and the ability to work in a team. There is no formal educational qualification required to enter into this profession. All one needs is the training in the computer systems and programmes used in digital video/film editing and an interest in editing visual media. It's better to go for job experience and than after 1/2 years of experience go for higher studies to enhance the knowledge, for doing specialised courses from reputed institutes like Film and Television Institute of India, Pune. Candidate must possess the qualification prescribed by the respective institutes/ colleges. Besides media houses, large film studios, electronic news channel groups, one can also find wide-ranging opportunities in various production houses scattered all across the country. The increased popularity of online video clips has also resulted in a large number of job opportunities for competent video editors. Initially, one can earn a salary between Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 10,000 per month. As one gain experience, pay starts increasing. A creative and experienced video editor working for a large studio can earn a salary of anywhere between Rs. 25,000 - 75,000/month.
