It depends on your interest and aim, for a degree course, you should go for PUC but for engineering, it's better to opt for Diploma as it gives you the basic knowledge of engineering.

First of all, you have not mentioned in the field in which you want to do Diploma. Ideally, I would suggest that you should complete class 12th and then decide on doing a Diploma course. Most institutes which offer diploma courses in different fields take students who have completed class 12th. All the best.
