Should I pursue Ph.D after completing B.Tech and M.tech or after B.Sc and M.Sc to become a professor in a government college?

As per my knowledge and my opinion, to become a professor in Government University, you can go in any of the two options, you have mentioned, as if you go for B.Tech M.Tech and then Ph.D. You are eligible for professor in University of Technology, and if you go for B.Sc M.Sc and Ph.D, then you are eligible as the subject teacher of the respective subject in which you have completed the graduation post-graduation and Ph.D.

You must pursue PhD in order to be a Prof. in Government colleges. Here's Why: 1- It's one of the essential academic attributes for any individual who wants to Teach in colleges (top). most of the universities consider PhD holders as the only candidate who is qualified for the job. 2- It gives you maximum exposure to research type work. Your research determines whether you can produce research material that can be published. 3- It gives you an upper hand if you aspire to work as a teaching official, in a consulting firm which deals with many educational clients or as an administrator for a research institute. 4- It will enhance your professional network, and give you a chance to hold top-level positions at various industries. which makes a great impact in your profile and thus you become over-qualified for most of the jobs.
