The Ph.D Pprogramme in computer science aims at training students in the skills and competencies related to the systematic investigation of various issues and problems in the area of their study in the field of computer science on information technology. At this level, the study is expected to provide new and original insights into the problem or the area under investigation. Therefore, Ph.D in computer science or IT prepares students for the field of education as university faculty, research and consulting by training them to seek new knowledge in the area of their expertise. IT professionals who are interested in teaching, research or consulting are only advised to do Ph.D in computer science and it is an overkill educational qualification for typical IT development or testing or architect or project management roles.
