There are primarily three certification paths available. Developer, Solution Architect and Sysops. The solution architect certification is the most sought after one and a lot of people with good experience in development and some basic knowledge in Solution Designing do this certification. Once you do a Solution Architect - Associate level course, you are required to have an idea of a majority of the important services of AWS and also which one to choose when you have multiple options available - For instance, if I want to implement caching, should I go for why the Memecached or the Redis engine for Elasticache and why I would be making the choice. Right now, there is a lot of demand for Certified AWS Professionals. Make sure that you are up to date with the new services and service updates of AWS and their white papers. All the best.
