Legal Advisory- After LL.B, you can join not only corporate firms, but also organizations such as NGOs, individual law firms, Banks, Think Tanks (such as Vivekananda International Foundation), etc. Please keep in mind that you need to qualify the exam of Bar Council of India before you can do any of these. Government Sector- You can apply for government jobs in the legal departments of various PSUs as well as High Courts. Such posts are generally filled by Public Service Commissions of various states. You can also write the SSC CGL exam for posts such as Income Tax Officer, Assistant in the Central Secretariat, etc. Teaching- You can go in for LL. M. and then take up teaching Law as a subject in law colleges. Judiciary Exams- If you wish to take a place in the judicial machinery of the country, you can prepare for Judiciary examination for the posts of Judge, and magistrate. Higher Education- If you wish to work in a particular field such as Cyber Law, Labour Law, International Law, Intellectual Property Rights, etc., then you can pursue an added certification for it. It will help you explore your interests and also lead you to a specialised field. All the best to you!

Having an LLB through distance learning would not serve you better than just having a degree for a namesake. As the degree is not recognizes by the Bar Council of India, and thus permission to practice is not given by it. As the Bar Council of India doesn’t recognize it, so you would not be allowed to even take up Judicial services exams. However, you may take up your preparations for UPSC in some cases or have a legal aid center of your own. Also, no legal officer vacancy admits LLB through Distance learning so that option is also not available. So, it would be advisable to go for a regular law degree to have better prospects and career in future. You will get all opportunities once you have a regular degree of law. Thus, distance course does not serve the purpose as such and it is just a degree for name sake with no practical availability. Also, you can’t be termed as an advocate by having such a degree.

Some private colleges in India offer LLB program through distance learning, but the Bar Council of India does not recognize this course. You will not be able to get into litigation, neither can you go for judiciary services examination. I will rather advice you to take up a regular LLB course than distance learning. And, if you do LLB as a part time course, you may get job opportunities, but the scope would be limited. So, if you want a good career as a lawyer, I would suggest you to go for a regular LLB course.
