Java is a popular general-purpose programming language and computing platform. It is fast, reliable, and secure. According to Oracle, the company that owns Java, Java runs on 3 billion devices worldwide. Considering the number of Java developers, devices running Java, and companies adapting it, it's safe to say that Java will be around for many years to come. 15 years back knowing Java was a good qualification and skill to get developer job. But, now knowing only Java programming is not sufficient to build IT development career. Java aspirants must also learn J2EE technologies such as Java Servlets, JavaServer Pages (JSP), Enterprise JavaBeans (EJB), Java Message Service (JMS), Java Naming and Directory Interface (JNDI), Java Database Connectivity (JDBC), JavaMail, Java Transaction Service (JTS) etc for job in IT industry.
