Following are the courses 1) B.EL.Ed stands for Bachelor of Elementary Education. The course trains you and make you capable of taking up the role of a primary school teacher. The eligibility is minimum 50% in 10+2 with any stream. Duration- Course duration is 4 years. Theory part consists of 3 years and 1 year is dedicated towards practicum part. 2) D.EL.Ed stands for Diploma in Elementary Education. It is a good alternative to B.El.Ed course. The eligibility is minimum 50% in 10+2 with any stream. Duration- Course duration is 2 years. 3) Other diploma courses are BTC (Basic Training Certificate), PTC (Primary Teachers Certificate), ETE (Elementary Teacher Education), NTT (Nursery Teacher Training), DED (Diploma in Education), TTC (Teachers Training Certificate) and JBT (Junior Basic Training).

Primary schools cover the children from grade 1 to grade 8 (ages between 6 to 14). Primary school teaching requires Diploma in teaching and education, a 2-year Diploma program having class 12th pass as the minimum qualification. "D.Ed. course specifically teaches and trains one on how to handle young children which just any graduation course does not do. If a person doesn't know the psychology of the children then it would be very difficult to handle them in the classroom. Apart from the above, it is recommended to go for other various courses as follows: NTT (Nursery Teacher Training): These tests are conducted for the one who wishes to join playschool or pre-primary schools. PTT (Primary Teacher Training): These tests are conducted for the aspirants who want to join primary schools (class 1 to 5) for teaching. This is a 2-year regular program for being a PRT teacher. One should be class 12th pass as this is the minimum qualification to be eligible for this program. Hope this helps.

To become a primary school teacher, one needs to do graduation along with NTT or and D.Ed or B.Ed. A person also needs training and experience in the same field. If a candidate wants to join an international PYP school then it would be good if he or she gets in-job PYP certification by attending the in-house PYP workshops. The candidate will get the benefits if he or she has done UG in psychology and the Montessori training program.

Pre-primary and primary school teacher needs to be 10+2 pass out followed by DTED (D.Ed) Diploma in Education. This is a two-year course. After completing this course, you need to qualify TET exam (Teacher Eligibility Test). This exam is conducted by the government. This is my personal experience about the primary school teacher.
