The subjects that you need to study when you pursue arts/humanities are:- English, History, geography, political science, psychology, sociology, fashion studies, Hindi or Sanskrit. Students who wish to pursue mass media, journalism, studying history, geography and other liberal arts should opt for this stream. The subjects like Sanskrit, Hindi, fashion studies are optional. And for an additional subject, you can choose from psychology, sociology, fashion studies, Hindi or Sanskrit. Most of the schools do not provide fashion studies ,Hindi and Sanskrit. If your school provides them and you like one of these subjects you can go for it.

The subjects offered at different levels of education are very different as in 12th the subjects are very simple and given at a basic details level as you progress and choose specialization then the subjects are taught in a lot of detail and require a lot of self-study and research work. Some of the most common subjects in this are: History Geography Religious Education Sociology Psychology Government and Politics Law Modern languages. Linguistics. Literature. History. Philosophy. Archaeology The list can actually go on but the main fact is that these are basically theory based subjects except a few like economics, archaeology that offer practical exposure.
