There is no distinguishing factor between lateral entry and direct entry graduate in BCA as job opportunities are equivalent for both. One needs to master the subjects to be at par with others, however, as should have good command over IT Development and related expertise. One can target roles like Management Information System Analyst, Data Science Analyst, System Support Engineer, IT Presales, Java developer, App Developer, Workflow analyst, Big Data Analyst. Majority of IT and Telecom Companies recruit BCA graduates like Vodafone, Airtel, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, Wipro, Cisco, TCS, IBM, Oracle, Nokia, Samsung, etc. Overall one can pursue MCA as post graduation to take deeper dive into senior Technical roles like Program Manager, IT Procurement Manager, Cyberspace officer and so on. All the best.

BCA is a job oriented degree course and you can go for a job immediately after BCA in a small and medium-sized IT companies. There is no difference between regular BCA and lateral entry BCA if the course is done from a recognised university or institute. Lateral entry BCA graduates can get jobs which a regular BCA graduate get. Indian IT industry does not prefer BCA for entry level developer and testers role. BCA graduates may get a junior developer or application support jobs. Syllabus of BCA includes courses on computer languages, data structure, databases and networking, etc. BCA degree course program is primarily focused on in the field of computer applications. BCA degree can only help you to get only entry-level jobs and will require the acquisition of PG degrees such as MCA for a meaningful career. You may plan MCA or M.Sc IT/computer science degree after BCA lateral entry.
