Opportunities are always there if you are willing to choose. Govt. Jobs have been in great demand due to handsome salaries and not so hectic work schedule. After MBA, one can go for civil services, SSC-CGL exams, RBI Grade - B exams. PSU's like ONGC, NTPC often offer jobs on specialized jobs (though not on regular basis). One can choose any of these. Good Luck!

MBA is an all-purpose degree which provides a choice to graduates to choose his career options based on his interest, strength in management functional area and personality traits. MBA from top B Schools have career opportunities in the field of consulting, Business Analyst, Pre-sales support, Project Managers, Functional Managers, operations management in private, government, PSU and NGOs. Majority of MBA graduates prefer private sector jobs because of better salaries and growth opportunities. Number of opportunities for Government job are restricted and also slowly government is rationalizing its term and conditions of job. Life time pension benefits were withdrawn by government in 2004. It has been noticed that students prefer private sector jobs over government job. Following are job opportunities for MBA graduates in Government sector: (a) Civil Services by appearing in civil services examination conducted by UPSC. (b) Public Sector as management trainees (c) Public sector banks as PO or specialist officer. (d) RBI and other financial institutions such as IDBI, REC, etc (e) SEBI (f) Trade bodies (g) Government educational institutes (h) Defense and Paramilitary services (I) R&D org as admin or functional specialist (j) PSC, SSC exam etc
