Design concerns with work in exceedingly artistic, imaginative, inventive and creative manner. Bachelor of Design (B.Des) is an undergraduate academic degree programme in the field of designing. The course mainly deals with designing a specific part of a whole structure or design of a shape, configuration etc. After the completion of this 4-year course, the candidates are provided with a lot of opportunities for securing a career. In the course curriculum, the candidates are offered with various specializations such as the design of buildings, machine parts, fashion designing, architecture, game design, jewelry & metalsmith, textile design, graphic design, and so on. Besides the private sector firms, numerous government organizations also provide vast openings for the B.Des candidates. The government institutes such as National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), National Institute of Design, The Indian Textile Industry, etc. recruit talented B.Des graduates for various posts. One can also look out for a profession in any of the nationalized banks or railway or defense service. To acquire a career in these government departments, the candidates need to clear the exam organized by different governmental organizations such as SSC, PSC, UPSC, etc. One can also choose teaching field which is considered as one of the noblest professions.
