Doing M.Sc. increases the qualifications of a student. Also, it boosts skills. The group selection routine ensures that students specialize in a particular discipline. This specialization will help find better jobs in that respective field. Also, M.Sc Degree paves way for students to pursue programs like Ph.D and thus build a career in the lucrative Research and Development sector. Many PSU's has requirements for IT analysts and System Engineers to keep their software up and running. BHEL, GAIL, SAIL, NTPC and CONCOR do have software working day in and day out. Though the opportunities are few as compare to IT companies but the position and experience of working in PSU's are in no match with that of the private sector. Also, the pay scale in PSU's is generally higher System Engineer after Masters can expect average pay of 7-10 LPA.
