Electrical engineering is better than mechanical engineering because it has high scope now when compared to mechanical engineering and also has good placement opportunities.

I'll prefer you to opt for the electrical engineering as the scope of this field in India is good and you can easily get a decent pack job easily but this can't be possible in the mechanical branch as there are very less jobs in India for this field. But, if you want you can opt for the mechanical also but the pack of this college in this field is not so good.

It's very difficult to say which one is better. but if you want to go public sector in future than mechanical has more seat than electrical but there is also good competition for that. And mechanical branch has good placement in HBTI over electrical. So the decision is totally yours as its all about interest.
