There are various entrance exams organized by various colleges for admission in B.Arch in India. 1. Sir J.J. College of Architecture This is one of the best colleges for architecture and 1st college of Asia, established in 1913. This college takes admission for B.Arch through MHTCET exam organized by Maharashtra government. 2. IIT Roorkee IIT Roorkee is one of the best IIT colleges for B.Arch. For taking admission in IIT Roorkee students have to clear JEE Mains and Advance and then aspirants have to appear in AAT exam for admissions. 3. IIT Kharagpur IIT Kharagpur also follows the same procedure for admission as IIT Roorkee does. 4. R.V. College of Engineering This is one of the best colleges in Bangalore for B.Arch. This college takes admission through NATA. 5. Malaviya National Institute of Technology MNIT Jaipur This is one of the best NITs taking admission on the basis of JEE Mains paper 2.

Any child who wishes to go for career in architecture are supposed to have basic qualification of a pass in class 12th with min 50% marks along with compulsory subject of mathematics or pass class 10th + 3 years Diploma in any stream from a recognised university/ board/ institution. to get admission for B.Arch in the top colleges, all student must have appeared for the national level entrance exams. Some of the popular exams that are accepted at the national level across the top colleges are AIEEE Architecture exam, JEE, NATA, AAT, COMEDK. Once you get a good rank in at least one of these exams then you can apply for the admission in the top architecture colleges. Some the colleges that accept these exams are: National institute of technology IIT- Roorkee BIT- Mesra SPA Delhi Although you may get admission in some colleges without exams too but the effort might not be worth as the top colleges have major advantage at time of placement.

Part 1 being Mathematics & General Aptitude Part 2 being Drawing test Part 1 Consists of - MATHEMATICS Algebra: Definitions of A. P. and G.P.; General term; Summation of first n-terms of series. Arithmetic/Geometric series, A.M., G.M. and their relation; Infinite G.P. series and its sum. Logarithms: Definition; General properties; Change of base. Matrices: Concepts of m x n (m 3, n 3) real matrices, operations of addition, scalar multiplication and multiplication of matrices. Transpose of a matrix. Determinant of a square matrix. The duration of the course is 5 years and to get admission for B.Arch in the top colleges, the student must have appeared for the national level entrance exams. Some of the popular exams that are accepted at the national level across the top colleges are AIEEE Architecture exam. It lets you get admission in National Institutes of Technology (i.e Government colleges). National Aptitude Test is for admission for Architecture in private colleges recognized by Universities, JEE AAT etc. Many colleges have their different entry requirements (accepted exams). A few of the top colleges are, IIT- Roorkee, admission is done on the basis of JEE paper 1, and then further for B.Arch, one should qualify for AAT. However, seat allotment is done on the basis of JEE rank. In NIT, the admission is done on the basis of JEE Mains ranking. BIT-Mesra, admission is done on the basis of NATA COMEDK.
