After Cracking UGC NET exam, you can apply for lecturership or Junior Research Fellowship in any university across the country. Your selection will be based on the marks scored by you in UGC NET. There are three stages after getting selected- Assistant Professor Associate Professor Professor

National Eligibility Test (NET) is conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is for determining the eligibility of Indian nationals for the eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship and Eligibility for Assistant Professor both in Indian Universities and Colleges. The eligibility for seeking job as Assistant Professor in Indian Universities as recommended by UGC is as follows: (a) A master degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading systems is followed) by a recognised university in India or aboard. (b) Candidate must have cleared NET /SLET/SET or equivalent exam approved by UGC (c) A PhD degree holders are exempt from appearing in NET/SLET/SET (d) NET/SLET/SET is not required for such Master disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted. After clearing UGC NET exam, you may find some excellent teaching job opportunities in your subject of post-graduation or in a related subject. You can go for positions like a lecturer and assistant professor after few years of job experience.

click here. You can apply for the UGC NET or CSIR NET exam conducted to select candidates for the professor or research and development field in top government universities or institutes. You must have the post-graduation degree with minimum 55% marks to be eligible for the UGC NET exam. There is no age limit for the assistant professor post through the UGC NET exam. So if you completed your post-graduation degree then you can check the eligibility criteria and apply for the exam in your suitable field.
