An Atom is the smallest possible constituent of a substance, which if you further break will not be able to hold the properties it had earlier. A molecule is a combination of atoms in a certain ratio under some chemical circumstance. The properties of a molecule can vary from the properties of the atoms from which it is created.

A molecule is a combination of atoms in a certain ratio under some chemical circumstance. The properties of a molecule can vary from the properties of the atoms from which it is created. For example water, Hydrogen and oxygen. Hydrogen and oxygen are atoms. Hydrogen itself can burn and oxygen helps burning. But the properties of water are completely different.
