You can't pursue GATE if you have degree in Information Technology. But CSE Bachelors can pursue GATE. It is absolutely a right reason as I say.

BCA is a 3 year degree course. B.Tech is a 4 year degree course. B.Tech has many branches, two of them are CSE and IT. In CSE, you'll learn about hardwares and software related to computers. In IT, you'll mainly learn software. In BCA also you'll learn 3-4 programming languages, which can be used for creating software. All the courses have their own potential. But the companies tend to hire candidates with B.Tech degree than BCA degree. If you are eligible for B.Tech, then you should definitely take admission into B.Tech, and if not, then BCA is also a good course to pursue.
