What is the difference between computer science and computer engineering?

Computer Science (CS) is a study of the theory, applications of engineering principle for the design and use of computers based systems. Computer Science deals with mostly software aspect of Systems and Application Development. Computer engineering (CE) deals with design, implementation, and management of software & hardware based information system and electronics systems to automate processes. Computer Engineering mainly is field respect to computer hardware. CE graduates are trained to integrate several disciplines such as Information Technology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Software Design, etc. Nowadays most of engineering colleges offer Computer Science and Engineering ( CSE ) degrees where students undergo both software and hardware courses. B.Tech CSE graduate specializes in theory of computation and design of computational systems. CSE graduates are trained to integrate several disciplines such as Information Technology, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Software Design, etc. The CSE graduates are mainly involved in the development of software and hardware systems of various aspects of computing for products, systems and Information Systems.
