What is the difference between PGDM and PGPM? What are their advantages?

PGDM VS PGPM: PGDM and PGPM are two different courses. PGPM is an award program and not a degree; and is not an AICTE recognized course. It is not offered by an AICTE approved institution and a student who pursues a PGPM will not qualify for higher studies like PhD since PGPM is an award program and not a degree. A PGPM Course may be of any duration and is offered at the Institute level; whereas PGDM courses are of 2-years duration. PGDM courses are designed by integrating current management theories with industry specific perspective and allow students to go for higher studies. PGDM programs are AICTE approved and thus holds greater importance from non-recognized PGPM courses. Thus failing to possess any recognition, PGPM program carry very less importance and development opportunities. PGDM is a degree that enables you to pursue higher education like Ph.D but completing a PGPM program does not facilitates you to opt for higher studies. Students pursuing PGPM program possess very low chance of getting job opportunities while a PGDM degree elevates your capability to grab best potential career options raising your bankability and marketability both nationally and internationally. As PGPM program does not acquire any approval, the quality of education imparted on students can be a major question; whereas the quality of education in PGDM can take you to new heights.

Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM) is not a degree rather just a certificate awarded presenting the successful completion of the programme in Management in particular institution. It can be a typical one year program or can be of any duration as decided by that particular Institute. Many PGPM programs are not affiliated to any university or AICTE approved, but some IIMs (Trichy, Bangalore, Rohtak, Indore etc. ) and B Schools offer PGPM of 2 years duration. . Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) is a diploma after a graduation issued by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) recognized institutions. Institutions and b-schools offering PGDM course are autonomous body with industry-oriented curriculum. Duration of PGDM is up to two years and is normally a full-time program.

PGPM Vs PGDM. AICTE approved program PGDM PGPM- AICTE not approved. But coming to job market. PGPM or PGDM. skills and capabilities that will be checked. by the industry. there are some programmes PGPM got huge demand by the industry. consider the programmes as per your need.
