To qualify for a course in embedded systems and VLSI, one can take following two routes:- 1.Take up M.Tech with GATE entrance exam and minimum 55% in graduation as the eligibility. 2. Take up MS in embedded systems with GRE and TOEFL exam and minimum 50% in graduation. One can get various exposures to chip manufacturing, systems fabrication and design, chip modulation, processing and network orchestration, hardware manufacturing and maintenance are some of the top roles one can expect. Major companies to recruit such candidates include Qualcomm, Nokia, Samsung, Apple, Intel, Amazon, Vodafone, Tesltra, China Mobike, etc. After MS one can expect a salary range from 80,000$ upwards on yearly basis as demand for such quality candidates is way higher. After M.Tech one can expect a salary of 10-15 LPA as CTC in India. All the best.

An embedded system is a computer system with a dedicated function within a larger mechanical or electrical system, often with real-time computing constraints. It is embedded as part of a complete device often including hardware and mechanical parts. Embedded systems control many devices in common use today. All B.Tech ECE and B.Tech Electronics graduates have core courses in embedded systems and VLSI in their syllabus. These graduates can do PG Diploma / M.Tech in embedded systems and VLSI. M.Sc physics students are also allowed for these courses. After a PG Diploma or M.Tech, students can find a job in the following organisations: (a) Consumer Electronics or other Product Based Company in design, maintenance roles. (b) Telecom equipment R&D, manufacturing companies. (c) Indian or MNC with R&D centres in Semiconductor or VLSI industry in the role of Electronics Design Automation, ASIC Design Company, FPGA Design Company or Devices companies, etc. (d) Software development companies working as outsourcing partner of MNCs (e) DRDO/ ISRO. (f) Educational Institutes, etc.
