The PHP Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) is a programming language that allows web developers to create dynamic content that interacts with databases. PHP is basically used for developing web based software applications. There is no prerequisite to learn PHP. It will be good that before proceeding with learning PHP aspirant should have at least basic understanding of computer programming, Internet, Database, MySQL, etc. PHP is used in Server-side scripting, command line scripting and for writing desktop applications. PHP can be used on all major operating systems, including Linux, many UNIX variants (including Himachal Pradesh-UX, Solaris and Open BSD), Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, RISC OS and probably others. PHP also has support for most of the web servers today. This includes Apache, IIS, and many others and this includes any web server that can utilize the FastCGI PHP binary, like Lighttpd and Nginx. PHP works as either a module, or as a CGI processor. PHP is easy to learn and developer can do freelancing projects as well seek job of developer in IT industry.

PHP is a server-side scripting language that can also be used as a generic programming language as well. PHP is included as a part of the curriculum in web designing and development courses in many institutes. Both web -designing courses and PHP alone can be pursued as a certification course via any computer training institute. In this case, the admission criteria, fee and course duration might vary from one institute to another. In general, a basic knowledge of programming language is beneficial for understanding PHP. Most of the real-time websites are based on PHP as it offers an easy access to an underlying database and use of advanced programming languages as well. Hence, it is used as a mainstream web - scripting language. Hence, it provides enough job opportunities for the web-designing companies at present. I hope this answers the question.
