The PHP Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) is a programming language that allows web developers to create dynamic content that interacts with databases. PHP is basically used for developing web based software applications. There is no prerequisite to learn PHP. It will be good that before proceeding with learning PHP aspirant should have at least basic understanding of computer programming, Internet, Database, MySQL, etc. PHP is used in Server-side scripting, command line scripting and for writing desktop applications. PHP can be used on all major operating systems, including Linux, many UNIX variants (including Himachal Pradesh-UX, Solaris and Open BSD), Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, RISC OS and probably others. PHP also has support for most of the web servers today. This includes Apache, IIS, and many others and this includes any web server that can utilize the FastCGI PHP binary, like Lighttpd and Nginx.
